Marcel Geraeds

The Dutch serial entrepreneur Marcel Geraeds has developed into a diverse musician, business man and coach. His personal mission is to introduce the “power of music” into as many parts of societal life as possible.
As a instrumentalist, he has worked with symphony orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Rotterdam Philharmonisch Orchestra and is a member of the Farkas Quintet Amsterdam.
His conducting career took off when he won the International Conducting competition Macon (USA) in 2012. There followed invitations at home and abroad with the Residentie Orchestra, The Macon Symphony Orchestra and the Gwinnett Chamber Orchestra.
As well as his professional performing engagements, Marcel has steeped himself in the world of 3D visuals and Augmented Reality. In 2014 he made his first animation film which was premiered in the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam. He built on his success with his subsequent children production FR3D in 2016 and then in 2017 and 2019 he made an interactive 3D production for the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. These and other innovation projects are produced by his company Sonolux.
Together with Charles Watt he established Artfully Minded Consultancy Group in 2019 which brings programmes for businesses who wish to implement “Artful” thinking in their work environment. Marcel developed his course “Leading and being led” in which he reveals the inner workings of a symphony orchestra and the interactive role of a conductor in together creating a performance.
